At the advice of our Covid-19 physician’s committee, Congregation Beth Israel has a vaccine mandate. All visitors 18 years of age and older will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated before attending any in-person services, meetings, or events. This mandate will enable us safely to hold in-person indoor Shabbat morning Kiddush as well as programs with meals. Currently, masks will still always be required inside the building except while eating. We strongly encourage our parents to have their eligible children vaccinated. For purposes of this mandate, “fully vaccinated” means having two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Booster doses are not part of this requirement.

We ask all members who wish to attend an in-person service or event to scan and upload their vaccination card below or email a copy of their vaccine card to office@cbiberkeley.org. Those who have not previously sent in their proof of vaccination must show their proof of vaccination at the time of entering the synagogue. Copies of vaccines on cell phones are acceptable during the week, but on Shabbat, the actual vaccine card must be shown.
