Brenda Webster, author of the novel, AFTER AUSCHWITZ: A Love Story was born in New York City, educated at Swarthmore College, Barnard, Columbia University, and University of California, Berkeley, where she earned her Ph.D. She is a novelist, playwright, critic, and translater who splits her time between Berkeley and Rome. She is the author of four previous novels, Vienna Triangle, Sins of the Mothers and Paradise Farm, The Beheading Game and a memoir, The Last Good Freudian. The Modern Language Association published Webster’s translation of Edith Bruck’s Holocaust novel Lettera alla Madre.Vienna Triangle explores Freud’s role in the death of his brilliant disciple, Viktor Tausk. Brenda Webster co-authored a play with Meridee Stein inspired by this story, “The Murder Trial of Sigmund Freud.”
