Happy Purim!

To see our Purim Guidelines, please click here.

We look forward to celebrating Purim together on March 9 & 10. Please see the full schedule below, including Megillah reading times.

Our Purim Seudah will begin at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, March 10 and we are excited to welcome back Shamati to CBI. If you wish to sponsor the Purim Seudah at $118 to $360, please send your pledge to the office, make a payment by check to CBI or Zelle (to office@cbiberkeley.org) or click here to make a donation picking the General Fund; please indicate Purim Seudah as a memo.

Purim gifts to the needy (matanot l’evyonim):
The Megillah established that one of the most important ways in which Purim is celebrated is through giving to our fellow Jews.  Every year, CBI is able to collect an increasing amount of funds that we disburse in our local community and in Israel as well. If you would like to designate R. Cohen as your agent for your donation, you are welcome to bring cash or a generous check, made out to Congregation Beth Israel, or make a donation online by clicking here, please pick the Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund and indicate  “Matanot L’evyonim.” Rabbi Cohen will make sure that the funds will be distributed in a timely fashion.

It will be a halakhic reading at a fast pace with minimal noisemaking at Haman, in a setting where young children can feel free to move about with their parents. As this is our first time offering this option, please RSVP to M. Sutton so we have a sense of whom to expect and with any feedback or questions.
